The Crested Dutch, or Polish, were imported from eastern Europe, and upon landing in England, they were called "Poland Fowls." On the Continent of Europe the name "Padoue" is applied to crested breeds.
Polish are a long established race of domesticated poultry. It was mentioned as a pure breed as early as the sixteenth century. It is among the most ornamental and beautiful breeds of poultry, highly prized for exhibition and the production of white-shelled eggs. The most striking characteristic of the Polish fowl is the crest.
Economic Qualities: A highly ornamental fowl laying a medium sized white egg; a non-sitter; colour of skin, white.
POLISH BANTAMS
The shape, colour and disqualifications except for weight, of Polish Bantams, shall be the same as for the corresponding variety of Polish.

Cock 30 oz (850g). Hen 26 oz (740g).
Cockerel 26 oz (740g). Pullet 24 oz (680g).
GOLD LACED, SILVER LACED, BUFF LACED ARE BEARDED.
SELF COLOURS CAN BE BEARDED OR NON BEARDED.
WHITE CRESTED VARIETIES ARE NON BEARDED
The colour description of a non-bearded variety shall be identical, except for beard, with the corresponding bearded variety.
SHAPE OF MALE
Comb: V-shaped; of small size, the smaller the better; set evenly on head, retreating into crest; natural absence of comb is preferred.
Crest: Very large, profuse, rising well in front so as not to obstruct the sight, and falling over on both sides and to rear in a regular, even mass, composed of feathers similar in shape and texture to those of hackle.
Beak: Of medium length, slightly curved.
Head: Large with a pronounced protuberance on top of skull.
Nostrils: Large, with crown elevated above the ordinary curved line of beak.
Eyes: Large, full.
Beard (in bearded varieties): Thick and full, running back of eyes in a graceful curve.
Wattles: Uniform, thin, well rounded on lower edges.
Ear Lobes: Small, smooth.
Neck: Of medium length, slightly arched, with abundant hackle flowing well over shoulders.
Wings: Large, well- folded; carried without drooping; prima ries and secondaries, broad and overlapping in natural order when wing is folded.
Back: Straight, wide across the shoulders, tapering to tail ; saddle feathers, abundant, with slight concave sweep near base of tail.
Tail: Large, well-expanded, carried at an angle of forty-five degrees above the horizontal; sickles and coverts, abundant and covering main-tail feathers; main-tail feathers, broad and overlapping.
Breast: Full, prominent.
Body and Fluff: Body, of medium length, moderately full, tapering from front to rear ; fluff, rather short.
Legs and Toes: Legs set well apart, straight when viewed from front; lower thighs, of medium length; shanks, of medium length; toes, straight, well-spread.
SHAPE OF FEMALE
Comb, head, beak, nostrils, eyes, wattles, and ear lobes: Similar to those of male, but smaller.
Crest: Large, compact, profuse, globular, rising well in front, regular and unbroken.
Beard (in bearded varieties): Same as male.
Neck: Medium length, full at base, tapering to head. Wings : Large, well-folded and carried without drooping; primaries and secondaries, broad and overlapping in natural order when wing is folded.
Back: Straight, broadest at shoulders, tapering, with concave sweep near base of tail.
Tail: Large, broad, well-expanded, carried at an angle of forty degrees above the horizontal ; main-tail feathers, broad and overlapping.
Breast: Full, round, prominent.
Body and Fluff: Body, medium in length, moderately full; fluff, short.
Legs and Toes: Legs, set well apart, straight when viewed from front; lower thighs, of medium length; shanks, of medium length; toes, straight, well-spread.
NON-BEARDED POLISH
WHITE-CRESTED BLACK POLISH
Disqualifications: More than one-half inch of positive white in any part of plu mage, or two or more feathers tipped or edged with positive white, except in crest ; shanks other than dark slate or leaden blue.
COLOUR OF MALE AND FEMALE
Comb and Crest: Comb, bright red. Crest, white, a narrow band of black feathers at base of crest in front is allowable, but the narrower the better.
Beak: Bluish black.
Head: Face, bright red.
Eyes: Reddish bay.
Wattles: Bright red.
Ear lobes: White.
Shanks and Toes: Dark slate.
Plumage (except Crest): Black plumage with a green sheen
Under-Colour of all sections except crest: Slate.
BEARDED GOLD LACED POLISH
Disqualifications: Shanks other than blue or slaty blue.
COLOUR OF MALE
Comb and Crest : Comb, bright red. Crest, in cockerels, black laced with golden bay, which after first moult should be golden bay laced with lustrous black.
Beak: Dark horn.
Head: Face, bright red.
Eyes: Reddish bay.
Wattles: Bright red.
Ear lobes: White.
Beard: Golden bay, laced with lustrous black.
Neck: Golden bay, each feather laced with lustrous black; plumage on front of neck, same as breast.
Wings: Fronts and bows, golden bay, each feather laced with lustrous black; coverts, golden bay, each feather laced with lustrous black, lacing widest at end, forming two well-defined wing bars; primaries, golden bay, each feather ending with black, the black tapering to a point on lower edge; secondaries, golden bay, with well-defined black lacings.
