Head - Skull short, broad between the eye and jaw, thick at the base. Beak strong, thick, and somewhat short. Eyes bold, set back in the head. Comb triple (or "pea"), very hard fleshed, and small. Face hard and fine. Earlobes small. Wattles none.
Neck medium length, the same width throughout, powerful, with scanty feathering and clean throat — not prominent or fleshy.
Body short and round, with very close plumage; straight back; broad and high shoulders; fairly narrow stern, but thick and strong at the root of the tail ; short strong wings, level, carried well out from the shoulders ; short tail slightly droop ing, sickles tapering like a scimitar to within three or four inches of the ground.
Legs thick, muscular and short. Thighs well apart. Shanks and Feet free from feathers. Toes (four) straight, and the hind toe, if " duckfooted," not a disqualification.
Carriage upright, but not too "Gamey" in general appearance.
Plumage short and wiry, difficult to break, and devoid of fluff; almost naked at point of breast bone and first joint of the wings.
Handling firm and muscular, very heavy in comparison with size.

The general characteristics are similar to those of the cock, allowing for the natural sexual differences.
