The Crested Duck is a medium-sized duck with distinctive feather crest. The body is well-balanced and it has an alert character.
Carriage: Slightly elevated at front to approximately 40 degrees giving a natural carriage, not overly upright.
Head long and straight, fairly broad and smooth with eyes set symmetrically.
Crest globular, large, set evenly and centres on the top of the skull. The crest should not obscure the yes or impair vision. Avoid lopsided or loosely feathered crests.
Bill long and broad.
Eyes large, bright, clear and alert.
Neck rather long, slightly arched and graceful.
Body long, broad, and fairly deep; full round breast;
Long broad back, moderately deep and strong.
Strong wings, carried closely, flight feathers neat and held close to the body.
Short tail, similar to that of the Aylesbury.
Legs: medium length, strong.
Toes straight, stance firm.
Any recognised duck colour is permitted.
Serious Defects : Slipped wings; crest obstructing sight, loose or oversized, any deformity.
Weight of Drake: 7 lb (3.12kg).
Weight of Duck: 6 lb (2.72kg).
